what's so special about india? #4

Another thing to add in your India-dictionary:

Whenever getting a receipt in India, no matter on what amount it will always be written
"only" afterwards. Very positive people, those Indians.

-"1000 rupees O N LY madame"
- Ah... only!?

Sometimes this really feels ridiculous!

    Hello from a Nykarlebybo.
Me and my Swedish friend are going out backpacking soon.
We start with three weeks in India (w.16-19). Our flight goes to Mumbai and from there we are planning to head up north in the big country... thinking about at least Agra and Varanasi.
I was happy to find your blog and get som inspiration from your India-adventure.
Is there anything you think we absolutely should see/do/taste/read or something we should avoid?
Anything else we should think of?

  2. hey Simone and Nina, I'm an Indian and I'll explain why its written "only" after amount. Its written so that no one can add anything to the amount falsely. If u leave some space after amount, there are chances that someone might alter it for their own benefits. I hope u got it what I mean!!!
